What happens when an individual “channels” or receives dictation? What can this phenomenon tell us about the nature of consciousness? Can it be therapeutic or enhance creativity? Can everyone “channel”? Prophet will explore different approaches to evaluating channeling, including historical-factual, psychological, spiritual, and paranormal. The presentation will be enhanced with examples from history and literature, and also Prophet’s own experiences as a seer in training under her mother, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, who functioned as “messenger” for "ascended masters" for more than thirty-five years. Finally, she will examine recent studies about creativity and theta waves, and take up the question of the relationship between channeling and creativity.
